His Highness Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II, Crown Prince.

His Royal Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, Crown Prince, was born in Amman on the nineteenth of Muharram 1415 AH, corresponding to June 28, 1994 AD.

And they called him the eldest of the sons of His Majesty King Abdullah II and Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, and he is the forty-second descendant of the Prophet Muhammad, may blessings and peace be upon him. His Highness has one brother, His Royal Highness Prince Hashem, and two sisters. My Royal Highness Princess Iman and Princess Salma.

The Royal Decree was issued on the ninth of Rajab, 1430 AH, corresponding to the second of July 2009 AD, naming His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II as heir to the throne.

His Highness is keen to accompany His Majesty on his visits and inspection tours to the various governorates of the Kingdom, and he also accompanies His Majesty in a number of official and military activities locally and internationally. His Highness, the Crown Prince, was appointed as Deputy to His Majesty several times.

His Highness graduated in 2017 from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, and His Highness holds the rank of First Lieutenant in the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army.

His Highness the Crown Prince finished his secondary education at Kings Academy School in Jordan in 2012, and obtained his undergraduate education in international history from Georgetown University in the United States of America, from which he graduated in 2016.

His Royal Highness the Crown Prince launched a number of important initiatives through the Crown Prince Foundation, including:

1- Haqiq initiative.

Which aims to develop the skills of young people to reach the highest levels of professionalism in cooperation and joint work.

2- A special initiative in cooperation with the American National Astronautics and Space Agency (NASA).

To give Jordanian youth a rare opportunity to train in this agency.

3- Masar initiative.

To support Jordanian youth and provide them with an opportunity to show their capabilities and innovations in the space field.

4_ Hearing without limits.

Which aims to implant deaf children, and to provide appropriate training, education and rehabilitation for the beneficiaries of this initiative.

In April of 2015, His Highness the Crown Prince presided over a session of the United Nations Security Council to discuss the role of youth in peace building, conflict resolution and combating terrorism. His Highness delivered the speech of Jordan, as His Highness was the youngest in the history of the United Nations who presides over the Security Council. At the United Nations, the first Global Forum on Youth, Peace and Security was held in Jordan in August 2015, when the forum issued the “Amman Declaration on Youth, Peace and Security,” and in the same year and in December, His Highness’s efforts culminated in the issuance of a historic Security Council resolution, the first of its kind, on youth and security. And peace, which is Resolution No. 2250, which was based on the “Amman Declaration on Youth, Peace and Security.”

The concerns of His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, are based on supporting and strengthening what His Majesty the King emphasized to ensure the achievement of the results that His Majesty seeks to improve the quality of education, achieve economic growth, and ensure the integration of Jordanian youth in political life, by involving them in the political process and decision-making. And reform – both economic and political –

Hence the initiatives of His Highness the Crown Prince, directed at youth, which constituted an opportunity to support their participation and enhance their role in decision-making within the framework of the national scene.

It comes in black, white, green and red beams of rays attached to it by a seven-pointed star wrapping around a silver crown. The colors of the flag have national connotations, as is the Jordanian flag, as each color represents an Islamic caliphate. The black bundle represents the Abbasids, the Umayyad white and the Fatimid green, while the green color carries an additional symbolism as it is traditionally associated with Islam and Muslims in general. There is also the red bundle, which represents the Hashemite dynasty and the Great Arab Revolt. The seven-pointed star represents the seven verses of Surat Al-Fatihah, and expresses the unity of the Arab peoples. As for the silver crown, it symbolizes the monarchy, and represents His Highness the Crown Prince, and it is located in the center of the star to express His Highness’s mediation of all components and spectrums of the Jordanian people.
